The Palouse is a region bordering Idaho, Oregon, and southeastern Washington. The gentle rolling hills create a serene, lyrical, pastoral and magical effect upon the landscape. I have taken artistic liberties to render my photographs of the area into both simple shapes, muted colors and lines, as well as bold color striations and exaggerated delineations. Agricultural elements and textures, colorful crop and earth tones, create a reflective canvas of color and forms very suitable to a photographer thinking as a painter.
