Lawrence Manning is a visual artist using photography as a core element in his work. Although Lawrence enjoys documentary and travel photography, he has been most recently concentrating on a body of work titled "Murder". Using crows as his subjects, he reveals and builds the worlds of these mythically empowered birds as transformative, existential creatures. Another current study is attempting to represent complex landscapes into simpler geometries of colors, textures, and lines.

I am fascinated with their intelligence, social structure, and the symbolism they represent in various cultures, myths, and folklore. I am grateful that these crows became an opportunity to render this natural phenomenon into art.
